About Today’s Message:

📖 Sermon Title: Sin and Accountability

📚 Series: David: Turning Points

👤 Speaker: Pastor Jamie Allen

📅 Date: August 17, 2025

Bathsheba is pregnant. Uriah is dead. King David is responsible. Surely, this is a defining turning point in David’s life. But the real story comes next—God loved David too much to let him remain trapped in sin. So He sent Nathan, a prophet and friend, to confront the king with truth and call him to repentance.

This moment challenges us too. Sometimes we must lovingly confront others about sin. Sometimes we must humbly receive correction ourselves. In this message, Pastor Jamie Allen unpacks both Nathan’s courage and David’s response, showing us how accountability, repentance, and forgiveness can restore joy and bring us back to God’s heart.

Will you resist correction, or will you embrace accountability as a path to grace and growth?

Lesson #4 – Helping the Hurting

Text: 2 Samuel 9:1 – 13

Speaker: Pastor Jamie Allen

💙 Helping the Hurting – Kindness and Compassion

Next Sunday in David: Turning Points, we’ll look at a beautiful example of David’s heart. After becoming king, he remembered his promise to his best friend, Jonathan, and sought out Jonathan’s son, Mephibosheth—a man who was disabled and overlooked by society.

Instead of ignoring him, David invited Mephibosheth to his table and treated him like family.

This powerful act of compassion shows us how God calls His people to care for the broken, the overlooked, and the hurting.

We live in a world full of need. Sometimes the greatest witness we can offer is not through words, but through kindness.

Join us as we discover how David’s kindness reflects the heart of Christ and how we, too, can extend grace and compassion to those around us.
