What's going on at ACC?

Resentment is understandable when we’ve been hurt, but it is also deadly—emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Through David’s encounters with Shimei, we learn the courage to forgive instead of striking back, the grace to release bitterness, and the reminder that forgiveness is not a one-time event but a continual process. Jesus calls us to forgive as we’ve been forgiven, letting go of poison and walking in freedom.

David was a mighty warrior, but he also had a tender heart. In 2 Samuel 9, he seeks out Mephibosheth—the crippled son of Jonathan—to keep a promise and show kindness. Instead of ignoring someone society overlooked, David welcomed him to the king’s table. This powerful turning point shows us how compassion means more than words—it is action, mercy, and grace, pointing us to the greater love of Christ.

Bathsheba was pregnant. Uriah was dead. And David, the king, was responsible. But the turning point wasn’t in the sin itself—it came when God, in His mercy, sent Nathan to confront David.
