📖 Key Verse: “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” – Romans 10:9 (NLT)
This morning, we continued our sermon series “Essentials” with a powerful message on the next crucial step in our journey with Jesus: Confess.
Pastor Jamie Allen helped us explore what it truly means to confess our faith—and why it matters so deeply. Confession is more than just words; it's a public declaration that Jesus is Lord and that we believe in His resurrection power.
We asked important questions like:
What does it mean to confess Jesus as Lord?
Why is confession a vital part of salvation?
How can our confession impact the way we live?
Through Scripture and personal reflection, we learned that confession is both a bold proclamation and a humble surrender. It’s saying out loud what we believe deep in our hearts—and allowing that belief to shape our everyday lives.
🗣️ We unpacked three key truths about confession:
Confession is Essential – Salvation involves both belief and confession. Faith in our hearts leads to the declaration on our lips.
Confession is Transformational – When we speak the truth about who Jesus is, we begin to live in alignment with that truth.
Confession is Missional – Sharing our faith boldly invites others into the same life-changing relationship with Jesus.
🌀 Why should we confess?
To publicly affirm our faith in Christ
To solidify our identity as followers of Jesus
To live lives that align with what we say we believe
Pastor Jamie reminded us that confession isn’t just a moment—it’s a lifestyle. When we truly believe, our lives begin to speak the truth of the gospel in every word, action, and relationship.
🔁 Challenge This Week:
Have you boldly confessed your faith in Jesus—out loud and in action?
Let your life echo your belief. Speak the name of Jesus and live in a way that shows He is truly Lord.
