OVERVIEW
More than Gifts
Sunday, February 15, 2026 | Pastor Collin Brennan
Last week we talked about being equipped — people and place for purpose. But being equipped isn’t about adding pressure or doing more. It’s about creating simple, shared ways to serve so no one carries everything alone.
The real question isn’t what we do as a church — it’s why we do it.
The answer is love.
In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul reminds us that no matter how gifted, knowledgeable, or sacrificial we are, without love it all means nothing. Love isn’t an extra quality added onto faith — it is the foundation that gives everything meaning.
Paul describes agape love — selfless, patient, kind, humble, enduring love. It doesn’t envy, boast, insist on its own way, or hold grudges. It rejoices in truth. It bears, believes, hopes, and endures all things.
Spiritual gifts will pass away. Serving roles will change. But love never ends.
Faith leads us to God. Hope anchors us in His promises. But love reflects His very heart.
So what does this mean for us?
Love shapes our serving. It’s not about doing more; it’s about loving better.
Love requires growth. We mature in love through obedience, patience, and humility.
Love builds this church. Every act of encouragement and forgiveness strengthens the body of Christ.
Being equipped isn’t about filling positions. It’s about forming hearts.
When love drives what we do, the church doesn’t just function — it reflects Christ.

Why We Give
Your generosity makes ministry possible. Because of your giving, we are able to bring these messages to you virtually, extend help to our community, support church improvements, and send resources to missions near and far. Every gift makes an eternal difference as we share the love of Jesus. Thank you for partnering with us in this work!
Worship

These Bible reading plans are more than just daily devotionals—they’re invitations to go deeper in your faith. Whether you’re exploring the wisdom of Proverbs, the bold challenge of James, or the redemptive story of Samson, each study is designed to draw you closer to the heart of God.
Take your next step:
Reflect with journal prompts
Talk it out in small group discussions
