Philippians 2:1–11 | Pastor Collin Brennan

True joy isn’t found in comfort or circumstances, but in a humble heart anchored in Christ. As Paul writes from prison, he shows that pride quietly robs us of joy and unity, while humility restores both. In Philippians 2, believers are called to live in unity by putting aside selfish ambition and considering others above themselves. Paul points to Jesus as the ultimate example—fully God, yet willingly emptying Himself, taking the form of a servant, and obediently giving His life on the cross. Because of Christ’s humility, God exalted Him above all, and one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Real joy grows when we adopt the mind of Christ, choosing humility, service, and obedience over self-centered living.
