OVERVIEW

Jesus Is Enough

Message by Pastor Collin Brennan

Colossians 1:15-23

Pastor Collin reminds us of a truth that is both simple and life-changing: Jesus is enough.

In a world that constantly tells us we need more—more success, more knowledge, more control—Paul’s letter to the Colossians brings us back to the foundation. The early church in Colossae was being influenced by false teachings that suggested Christ alone wasn’t sufficient. They were tempted to add rituals, rules, and other “spiritual extras” to their faith. But Paul quickly corrects this thinking by declaring the supremacy of Jesus.

Colossians 1 paints a powerful picture of who Christ truly is. He is not just a part of our faith—He is the center of everything. He is the image of the invisible God, the Creator of all things, and the One who holds all things together. Nothing exists outside of His authority, and nothing in our lives should exist outside of His leadership.

We were reminded that Jesus is not only our Savior, but also our Lord. He doesn’t want a portion of our lives—He calls for all of it. Our faith is not about adding more to feel complete, but about being rooted deeply in Him and trusting that He is already everything we need.

Because of Christ, we have direct access to God. We don’t need intermediaries or extra steps. Through His sacrifice, we are reconciled, made new, and invited into a relationship that is full and complete.

The challenge for us this week is clear:

  • Are we living like Jesus is enough?

  • Or are we still trying to add to what He has already finished?

Let’s be a people who rest in His sufficiency, walk in His authority, and build our lives fully on Him.

“In Him all things hold together.” — Colossians 1:17
