Scripture Focus: Revelation 4–5
Supporting Texts: Joshua 6, Matthew 27:51
This Father’s Day, we were honored to welcome U.S. Missionary Ben Brown from People of His Presence Ministries to share a powerful and timely word about worship — not just as a song or moment — but as a lifestyle.
📜 The Scroll and the Song
Ben walked us through Revelation 4 and 5, where we see a vivid picture of the throne room of God. The scroll held by the One on the throne represents a title or deed — ownership, authority, and purpose. As the Lamb (Jesus) is found worthy to open it, all of heaven erupts in worship. This isn’t dull or dry religion — it’s worship in living color: vibrant, unifying, and eternal.
✨ Characteristics of Worship in Living Color
Unified – Like singing “Happy Birthday” in unison, something powerful happens when God’s people lift their voices together. We were reminded of the walls of Jericho in Joshua 6—they fell not just because of volume but unity in obedience and faith.
Intimate – When Jesus died, the veil in the temple was torn (Matthew 27:51), removing the barrier between God and man. We don’t have to worship from afar. We are invited into a deep, personal relationship with the Father.
Enduring – Worship isn’t confined to a Sunday morning or a perfect mood. It’s an eternal chorus—a song that has already begun in heaven, and God invites you to join in.
💌 Worship from the Heart
Ben beautifully illustrated this by comparing two types of Father’s Day cards: a fancy store-bought Hallmark card, and a hand-crafted one from a child. Which one means more? The one that comes from the heart. That’s the worship God desires — not perfection, but authenticity.
“Don’t be afraid to lift your voice. It’s the most beautiful sound to the Father.”
🔥 A Call to Join the Song
You have a choice. Worship is not about your ability to sing on pitch — it’s about your willingness to enter in. Will you join the multitude around the throne in Revelation? Will you respond with your worship — in living color?
👑 Let’s be a people of His presence — unified, intimate, and enduring in worship.
