“Why My Dad Is My Hero” – A Tribute from Our Kids

On Father's Day, at Ashland Church of Christ, we took time to celebrate the amazing men who lead, serve, protect, and love with strength and grace — our dads, grandpas, and father figures.

Being a dad isn’t easy. It’s a daily call to lead with faith, love with patience, and walk with integrity. But the impact of a godly father is priceless — and today, we wanted to honor that.

In Proverbs 20:7, Scripture says:

“The righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him.”

That’s the kind of blessing we celebrated today — and we let our kids do the talking! We asked them one simple question: “Why is your dad your hero?”

Their answers were funny, heartfelt, and full of love. From “He fixes everything” to “He reads the Bible with me” — their words reminded us all that it’s not about being perfect… it’s about being present.

Whether you’re a dad, grandpa, mentor, or spiritual father — your faithfulness matters more than you know. You are seen. You are appreciated. You are loved.
