Pastor Collin shares a clear and timely vision for the year ahead: Equipped — people and place for purpose. Rooted in Jesus’ teaching about building on a firm foundation (Matthew 7:24–25), the message reminds us that a strong church is not shaken by storms when it is built on Christ.

Drawing from Ephesians 4, Pastor Collin explains that Jesus gives leaders to the church not to do all the ministry themselves, but to equip the saints—the entire congregation—for the work of ministry. The church grows and matures when every believer is grounded in truth, unified in faith, and actively serving.

The message highlights three core purposes of the church:

Worship — glorifying God together as one body
Edification — growing and being strengthened through God’s Word
Evangelism — naturally sharing Christ from a life rooted in Him

We were reminded that Scripture is essential to being equipped. From 2 Timothy 3:16–17, we learned that God’s Word teaches, corrects, and trains us so we are ready for every good work. An equipped church begins with people who know the Word, pray faithfully, and allow Scripture to shape their lives.

Pastor Collin encourages everyone to discover and use the spiritual gifts God has given them. Drawing from 1 Peter 4:10 gifts are meant to serve others and display God’s grace, and sometimes they are discovered only when we step out in obedience—even in unexpected ways.

Finally, the vision extended beyond people to the place God has given us. From 1 Corinthians 3:9–11, we were reminded that Jesus Christ is the foundation, and we are God’s fellow workers, building carefully and faithfully together.
