What's going on at ACC?

Christ is born! The long-awaited Savior has come. God’s promise is fulfilled, salvation is here, and joy has entered the world. Christmas is the celebration of God’s faithfulness and love made visible.

Advent looks forward as well as back. Jesus is coming again, and our hope rests in His return. We live in expectation—ready, hopeful, and faithful.

The world Jesus entered was broken and dangerous. Yet God protected Him. God remains our refuge today—a safe place in every storm.

The wise men traveled far to seek Jesus. Their hearts were set on worship. Advent calls us to pursue Him with the same desire and devotion.

Christmas is God shouting: “I love you.” Jesus came not to condemn the world but to save it. His love is undeserved, unearned, and unending.

For generations, Israel lived under Roman occupation—oppressed, heavily taxed, and longing for God to intervene. Into that darkness, God unfolded His meticulous plan of redemption. In Luke 2, we are reminded that the waiting was not in vain.

Jesus brings lasting joy—not fleeting happiness. His joy fills the deepest places of our hearts and cannot be taken away.

Jesus offers a peace deeper than circumstance—a peace that steadies our hearts even in chaos. His peace is not fragile; it is strong, lasting, and divine.

Jesus’ name reveals His purpose: He came to save. His name carries hope, healing, forgiveness, and authority. There is no name more powerful.

Jesus, eternal and divine, became human and lived among us. This is the mystery and miracle of Christmas: God came near, not in power but in humility.

Anna devoted herself to worship for decades, and God rewarded her faithfulness by letting her see Jesus. Your quiet faithfulness matters to God more than you know.

Simeon waited a lifetime to see the Messiah—and God kept His promise. Advent teaches us that waiting with faith is never wasted.

The shepherds didn’t just hear the news—they responded. Advent invites us to move toward Jesus with curiosity, eagerness, and faith.

The birth of Jesus replaces fear with joy. God’s love breaks into our ordinary lives and brings a joy the world can’t take away.

Jesus entered a world too busy to make room for Him. Advent asks us: Do we have room for Christ in our schedules, our decisions, and our hearts? He comes gently, waiting to be welcomed.

A government order, a long road, an inconvenient journey—yet God used every detail to fulfill prophecy. Nothing in your life is wasted. God is at work in the twists, turns, and unexpected moments.

Zechariah experienced doubt, silence, and then redemption. When God opened his mouth again, his first act was praise. Advent reminds us that God meets us in our weakness and restores hope.

Between packed schedules, messy houses, family tensions, overflowing to-do lists, and expectations that never quite match reality, Christmas can feel a lot more chaotic than calm. This year at Ashland Church of Christ, we’re leaning into the chaos and discovering how Jesus meets us right in the middle of it with hope, peace, and joy.

Mary worshiped before she witnessed the full miracle. Her praise came from deep trust in God’s character. Advent invites us to worship even when we’re still waiting to see the full picture.
