Kendra Swain — Serving Ashland & Chandlerville Students

The Blessings Ministry exists to help meet a simple but critical need in our community: making sure children have food to eat over the weekend.

Led locally by Kendra Swain, this ministry partners with schools in Ashland and Chandlerville to provide backpacks filled with kid-friendly, easy-to-prepare food. These backpacks are discreetly distributed to students who may not have reliable meals when they are away from school.

Each week, volunteers from the Ashland area churches help pack the backpacks and deliver them to the schools so children can head home on Friday with the food they need until they return on Monday.

This ministry is supported through:

• Donations of food items (especially peanut butter and other shelf-stable foods)

• Financial support to purchase needed supplies

• Volunteers who help pack the backpacks

Through the Blessings Ministry, our church family has the opportunity to show the love of Christ in a practical way—serving children and families right here in our local communities.
